9. Install Assembly | Attach head

09-1 Attach head to body

Required Parts:

C01 Head part x1	Screw No. 11 (M3_L8 MM30080-2) x4
Box X	Box of screws

⚠ Note! Before installing 【Head Part】, check 【Connection Cable】screws shown for tightness. Screws must be snugged down on terminals for sensors to work properly.

Fasten head to neck

Place【C01 Head part】screen side down on flat surface. Lay the robot face down as shown with neck mount inside head. Line up the guides and screw holes as shown.
Fasten with 4 pieces 【Screw No. 11 (M3_L8 MM30080-2)】.

Head installation finished!

09-2 Connect cables to head mainboard

Connection cable 17 HEAD x1

Connect head cables

Plug【Connection Cable 17 HEAD】 into socket on mainboard and feed cable out through guide on head as shown.
Plug the following 5 connection cables into the sockets shown【Connection Cable 03 BODY】,【Connection Cable 12 BODY】, 【Connection Cable 13 BODY】,【Connection Cable 14 BODY】, 【Connection Cable 16 BODY】.
⚠️Note! Make sure connection cables are firmly plugged in. Use tweezers in tight spaces as shown in video.

Cable Reference

If you have to remove a cable

To remove Connection Cables, please, see gif below. Hold all wires together and **evenly** pull straight out to unplug Connection Cable. Note how gif shows wire rolled slighty over fingertip to exert upwards pressure where space permits.

09-3 Install head microphone array

Required Parts:

C02 Head cover/ microphone array part x1	Screw No. 3 (M2_L4 TT20040) x1
Box X	Box of screws

Connect microphone array

Feed【Connection Cable 17 HEAD】from mainboard and【Connection Cable 11 NECK】from【SM02 Servo Motor (ID02)】 through upper cable management slots of head as shown.
Plug【Connection Cable 17 HEAD】 into socket of【C02 Head Cover/ Microphone Array】.
⚠️Note! Make sure connection cable is firmly plugged in.
Fasten【Connection Cable 11 NECK】 with【Screw No. 3 (M2_L4 TT20040)】. Ensure screw is tight on terminal as previously described.

Microphone array installation finished!

09-4 Fit head cover assembly

Loosely fit head cover – Do Not Close!

Place 【C02 Head cover/ microphone array part】 on head without snapping so it can be tested in next step.
Note! Just lay it on the head loosely; do not snap to.
If needed, you can use the included prybar to open the cover after consulting the Dismantling section at end of guide. Try to avoid having to open head cover as it is very difficult.
